Erinnerungsspur
‘꾸역꾸역’ describes doing something in a cramped, forced, or struggling way, often with the sense of pushing through despite difficulty. The book, bound together in this way, shows my life and the traces of those memories, Erinnerungsspur. The work “꾸역꾸역” represents a pile of books that reflects my life. I have strong ‘resilience.’ While moments of pain and hurt undoubtedly exist, I can feel myself growing stronger after overcoming them. This is how I live, pushing through. This onomatopoeia is reflected not only in the theme of the book but also in its binding method, individual pages, and overall form.

Role

I made a book by gathering thin, easily torn pages and compressing them strongly. The cover is solid, but when opened, fragile and wounded pages unfold. To intuitively capture the process of being wounded, I damaged the paper in various ways—tearing it into small pieces, soaking it in water, or scorching it with fire—then categorized the wounds and bound them into a single book. These pages are connected to each other by the covers, revealing the trajectory of 24 years of life.
