Birders' Playing Card
Inspired by my experience in the birdwatching club, where it was difficult to memorize the appearance and names of birds, I designed a new set of playing cards. The birds selected and arranged on the cards correspond to species with larger groups as the numbers on the cards increase. Therefore, the numbers on the cards can be intuitively understood through the illustrations. I drew the illustrations by referencing the birds’ appearances and highlighting the distinctive features needed for field identification.

• The number of birds illustrated matches the number on the card. • Spade and Club cards feature waterbirds, while Heart and Diamond cards feature forest birds. • The illustrations depict typical postures or appearances commonly seen during birdwatching, helping beginner birders with identification. • Both the commonly used names and scientific names of the species are provided for accurate identification.
